The Known-Distance Target is a live-fire long distance range training system compatible with all known distance (KD) ranges equipped with a suitable trench. This system features a lifting mechanism that alternately conceals and exposes the target silhouette. When the shooting line is inactive, the mechanism retracts the target for maintenance or silhouette replacement. The target is automatically lifted and lowered by a motor. The lifting apparatus includes a motor, gearbox, limit switch, and drive chain, enabling the target to transition from fully lowered to raised in just five seconds under optimal conditions.
The known distance target offers an optional illumination unit, enhancing target visibility for night firing exercises. This unit can be further augmented with infrared lighting. Additionally, a Muzzle Flash Simulator can be integrated to realistically produce visual effects, such as flashes, mimicking a firing weapon.
For enhanced precision training, the system can also incorporate a LOMAH (Location-Of-Miss-And-Hit) system. This feature precisely evaluates the location of hits and near misses on a target silhouette.
