Known Distance (KD) targets are designed for live-fire marksmanship training and qualification exercises on military shooting ranges. Compatible with known distance ranges equipped with a suitable trench system, these targets provide controlled and repeatable target exposure for rifle qualification, marksmanship development, and long-range shooting training. The known distance target system features an automated lifting mechanism that alternately conceals and exposes the target silhouette, simulating realistic target presentations while allowing instructors to control training sequences. When the firing line is inactive, the target can be fully lowered for maintenance, inspection, or silhouette replacement.
Powered by an integrated motor-driven mechanism, the system includes a motor, gearbox, limit switch, and drive chain, enabling smooth, reliable operation. Under optimal conditions, the target can transition from fully concealed to fully exposed in approximately 5 seconds, supporting efficient range operations and consistent training performance.
