Our hostage targets are designed for hostage rescue and qualification training. The system trains trainees not just to hit a target, but also to improve their shooting accuracy and discern what not to shoot. This reactive shooting target combines two independent infantry target mechanisms to simulate hostage scenarios realistically. The front target represents the hostage, while the rear target depicts the hostage-taker. The system offers various training levels, catering to users ranging from beginners to professionals.
The hostage target comes in both portable and fixed-installed models. The portable version, typically powered by batteries and controlled via radio, requires no special site preparation for placement, as long as it's shielded from direct fire and ricochets. This flexibility allows for easy relocation without the need for infrastructure modifications.
Both target holders feature a contact hit sensor that detects and counts mechanical impacts on the target silhouette from incoming projectiles. This sensor is capable of recording both subsonic and supersonic ballistic strikes from all calibers of live-fire ammunition, including pistols, rifles, and machine guns, as well as training ammunition.
Additionally, the sensor comes with an adjustable hit detection sensitivity. This feature allows for the calibration of the sensor to only register impacts from projectiles exceeding a predefined threshold as hits.
Furthermore, the sensor is equipped to support both single shot and burst modes. In burst mode, a rapid succession of shots is counted as a single hit.
In calm conditions, the hostage target system can swiftly move military target silhouettes weighing up to 5 kg (11 lbs), including full and half-sized 2D & 3D Infantry Targets, E-type, and F-type, in under 2 seconds. Even when subjected to wind speeds of up to 55 km/h, the system remains capable of lifting and lowering the aforementioned silhouettes in less than 2 seconds.
The hostage target system can be outfitted with an illumination unit, enhancing target visibility for night firing exercises. This unit can also include an optional infrared lighting feature. Additionally, a Muzzle Flash Simulator can be integrated to realistically create visual effects, such as flashes, to mimic a firing weapon.
For added safety and device protection, the system can also be equipped with a ballistic shield, which helps to prevent damage and avoid ricochets.
